Sophie Alcorn is the author of the weekly Ask Sophie column in TechCrunch and Ask Sophie: The Founder’s Guide to Visas & Green Cards. She is the founding attorney at Alcorn Immigration Law, the go-to resource for founders, HR, and technology professionals to obtain U.S. visas and green cards.
Having worked together previously on the branding of Alcorn Immigration Law, Sophie and I already had a close relationship. When she approached me to brand her podcast, I was delighted to hear back from her.
We followed my usual work flow; research followed by design thinking activities to establish the mood, the world and the core values of the podcast.
We found references for the main portrait of the podcast, and I prepared a photography spec for Sophie’s photographer Suz McFadden according to these references.
Once the cover design was finished, I moved on to the design of the rest of the materials, including the website and the style guide.
